Relaxing? (Raja, OPEN)

Raja smiled. She loved competition. "1....2....3!" she yelled and took off running. She knew she would beat him if she took her complete pace so she slowed down to make it even. Sure, she loved winning but she was fair either way.

Kyle took off as soon as she said three. He was right behind her until she slowed down, then he took off ahead of her. Something told him she underestimated him. He stuck his tongue out playfully as he passed her. He had been a ninja, so he had amazing agility. He leaped over a fallen tree, and across large rocks, not slowing down a bit.

Raja laughed then sped up, easily catching up to him without a second thought and passed him. Suddenly a pain came to her side and she had to stop. It wasn't a cramp, but something else. Maybe I caught a tree? she thought and stopped, holding her side. Her sword flared up in a bright orange, pain.

"SUCKER!" He yelled as he ran past her, but looked back once more to see why she stopped, and saw she was gripping her side. He skidded to a halt, and smashed into a tree... again. He quickly regained balance and ran back to her very quickly.

"Hey, are you alright?" He asked, a bit worried.

Raja's breathing had gotten labored. What the hell? she thought. She tried to concentrate but found herself unable. "I.... I don't know...." she said. She sat down on the ground, still holding her side. Suddnely a vision came to her.

The battle was vicious and blood was all around her. People were screaming and she was holding her side to keep the blood from gushing out. Her breathing was labored and she was growing dizzier and dizzier as she lost more and more blood. She looked up at the person casting the shadow down at her. "Good-bye, Raja," the figure said and sliced down.

Raja gasped, her eyes widening in surprise as she came out of the vision. Her breathing was heavy as she tried to catch her breath. She looked up at Kyle. "Whoah," she said.

"What's wrong???" He asked.

"Woah indeed..." He said, wondering what in the hell had just happened.

Raja tried to move but found herself unable to. "Kyle, who killed me?" she asked instead, looking up at him and hoping he had the answers. Was it Ryou? Was it Tremears? Was it an Alpha? her thoughts whirled and a headache formed in her head.

"I... I don't know. The last time I saw you, you left the academy." He said.

"Nobody knows where you went... or how you died. for that matter..." He added.

Raja sighed and looked down, her head still spinning. "I was at a battle of some sort," she said. Only Ryou would know.... she thought absently.

"A battle..." He repeated, but nothing came to him.

"I wish I knew. Like I said, you practically disappeared from the face of this earth once you left the academy. You didn't even call! I would have expected you, of all people, to keep in touch with me." He said and smiled, then let out a laugh.

Raja laughed. "What makes you think I would call or keep in touch?" she asked, suddenly curious. She looked at the ground, trying to focus on not passing out again.

"Well, for the most part I was joking around, but..." He said, and smiled.

"You were my bestfriend, my shoulder to lean on, the one person I knew I could count on." He said, and smiled wider, then looked up at the stars.

Raja nodded, understandingly but had a sense he wasn't telling her everything. She laid back on her back, moving her sword with her thoughts so that it lied beside her. "Sure is pretty, isn't it?" she asked, her voice calm and relaxed for once.

"Yeah... Very." He said, looking at all of them up in the sky. They made him feel so small, being just one person in the whole gist of things.

How am I gonna do this...? He thought, thinking of commanding a whole army to fight Ryou and the alphas.

"You know, it isn't the only pretty thing out here." He said, and slid down the tree to a sitting position.

Raja continued staring up at the stars. Say what? she thought and her brow furrowed in confusion. "Yeah, the moon's pretty too," she said, hoping he was talking bout the moon, but not sure if he was or not. IS that what I want? she thought, she wasn't sure.
