"Yeah, the moon is pretty too." He said and laughed. He slid off the tree, and laid down on the ground, his hands behind his head, staring up at the enormous night sky. As he watched, a star blinked out of the sky.
"Ryou..." He muttered, more as a growl, and kept his eyes on the spot where the star went out.

Raja blinked. Ok, then, she thought. "What about him?" she asked, she had seen the star too. She looked over at Kyle. He looked relaxed and she knew she could relax in his presence, unlike around everyone else she knew she could be herself around him. Thankfully. It was good to have one person like that, she supposed.

"A star just went out... that means a planet has just been... destroyed." He said, madness growing inside him.
"Of course..." He said.
"I can't believe I trained under him..." He said.
"If someone had said this would happen a few years ago, I would have said they were crazy... Now, Ryou is insane and taking over the universe, and I'm leading the resistance..." He said, not sure how to feel.

Raja suddenly had the urge to close the distance between them, if only for comfort. She resisted it though and changed positions instead. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I know how it is. He was like a father to me...." A tear glistened in her eyes and she turned back to look up at the stars, refusing to show how much it actually hurt.

"Yeah, tell me about it... I don't know if I have ever told you this... I haven't told many people..." He said, thinking back.
"My parents were... killed... fighting the nine tails... back in Konoha, the village I lived in... I was left to live on my own... I had to get my own food, find my own place to sleep... most times, it was in a cold alley somewhere with a tattered old piece of cloth as a make-shift blanket... Then Ryou found me... he brought me back to his home, whee I trained under him, and his son Jehuo... as I said before... I've known him for over 2,000 years... he was a fatherly figure to me... then this happened..." He said, still staring up into the sky.
"... and to think, this is how it will end.. Student versus Master... I would even go far as to say father versus son..." He said. He turned to look at Raja.
"Don't worry... it will be OK. I know how you feel... I'll find a way to bring him back. I promise." He said, with a smile. He extended a hand to her.

Raja looked down at his hand, not sure how to react so she followed instinct and took it. She then scooted closer to where she was only a couple inches from him. Strangely, it comforted her to know that she could talk to someone about these types of things. "I'm sorry," she whispered again. [/blockquote]

"There's no need to be." He said still smiling. He looked back to the beautiful stars, and saw dozens of constellations. He soon closed his eyes, and just laid there, relaxed.

Raja sighed. Something about this was bugging her but she didn't know what. "Sure is nice to relax in the beauty of the stars," she said with a smile as she looked up at the pinpricks and white mass of the moon. "I wish I knew that nights like this would last, but I may die in the next battle for all we know." She was okay with this fact, though she knew people would miss her. It saddened her a little, but probably not as much as it probably should have. She was okay with dying, again. [/blockquote]

He frowned.
"You shouldn't talk like that. You'll jinx yourself." Kyle said, and smiled.
"So... I don't know what to talk about." He said and laughed, happy to be able to get some of these things off his chest. It was good to NOT be fighting for once.

Raja laughed also. "Me either and I doubt I jinxed myself. If anything I'll whoop all their asses into the ground," she said with a smile and rolled over onto her stomach, playing with the grass. It was something she had always loved doing. She never knew why but the feel of grass running through her fingertips was calming. "It's good to have someone to talk to...." she muttered.

Kyle laughed at her comment.
"I don't have a doubt in my mind." He said, smiling. He pulled a locket out of his shirt, and opened it up. Inside was a picture of his parents and himself before they died. Under the picture was a date etched onto the metal.

Raja closed her eyes, feeling the nature around her as it breathed and lived on. It made her feel more normal, not strong but weak. Like the whole of nature could crush her in a moment but decided not to. She heard him move and looked over. "What's that?" she asked, curiosity striking before she could take it back. "I mean...um...you don't have to tell me, of course. I was just...wondering." She looked away, suddenly embarrassed. [/blockquote]

"No, it's alright. You have a right to know." He said, and took the locket off and handed it to her.
"The picture inside is me... and my parents... before they were killed. The date under it is when Ryou took me in." He said. He gently closed Raja's fingers around the locket.
"Keep it." He said and smiled. He then closed his eyes again, and pictured the picture in the locket... and for some odd reason, him, Ryou, and Jehuo back when Kyle and Jehuo were little.

Raja listened to him quietly. "But it's your only memory," she exclaimed. "You should be thankful you have something to help you remember." She didn't understand why he was giving it to her in the first place anyways. It confused her. [/size]

"It's fine... I don't need old memories holding me back at this point. It's be on your senses of die... they would only slow me down... and I'm pretty sure that this... as in my fight with Ryou... will probably be my last." He finished in a more serious tone. Then, he turned to her and smiled.
"Also, once this... this.. War... is over, you'll have something to remember me by!" He said.
